Last month we had the pleasure of attending the Heirloom Catering + Event Design launch party. It was the perfect opportunity for guests to not only meet and mingle with the Heirloom DC team, but be among the first to experience a deliciously styled event by the new boutique catering company. Founder and Style Director, Vicky Theodorou, was the hostess with the most-ess and threw one of the yummiest launch parties to date! If you missed it, read more to get all the delicious details.
The exposed brick and wooden floors at The Loft at 600 F was the perfect backdrop for a vintage themed party. I loved the industrial feel from the pipe canopy that was used to anchor rustic lanterns over the first group of savory bites! How cute are those geometric succulent terrariums? All the deliciousness was displayed on a curated selection of mirrors and picture frames from Something Vintage, which made them almost too cute to eat. If you’re wondering if the food tasted as good as it looked, the answer is HECK YES!
All the food was perfectly bite sized, which made everything easy to eat. The gyritos were a combo of lamb & beef cigars with tzatziki & fig balsamic glaze. Smart guests snagged two jars to satisfy their taste buds. The house cured rainbow trout, egg mimosa, avocado & lemon peel on little cucumbers should be the new brunch standard. I wish I grabbed 10 of those tasty gems! The Asian spiced ribs paired perfectly with the Sriracha lime shrimp with carrot radish slaw on a petite steamed bun.
The chioggia beet chips with citrus cumin salt and lemon chive aioli were all that and a bucket of chips! So good, they were the first to sell out. For the chicken and waffle lovers, the baby waffle cones filled with crispy buttermilk chicken and pickled peach is a must have for your event! The pickled peach was the right touch of sweet, a great substitute for the normal maple syrup. Our personal favorite was the crispy sweet potato boats with scallop ceviche and cilantro blossom #LoveAtFirstBite.
To stop ourselves from eating all the baby waffle cones, we headed towards the bar which was made entirely out of reclaimed wood and stocked with delicious drinks. I love how the Heirloom DC team crafted cocktails using local flavors from Charm City Meadworks, Green Hat Gin, and Deep Eddy Vodka. There was even a tasty Element Shrub cocktail sans-alcohol!
The Heirloom DC taste and style was clearly visible throughout The Loft. Every detail was thoughtfully planned out to create a fun and intimate vibe throughout the night. Urban Stems delivered some flowers in burlap that fit right into the party theme. How charming is that vintage window pane and step stool?
Heirloom DC partnered with a few Wedding Mavens to round out the fun vibe of the event. Just Smile Booth set up a custom floral backdrop for a prop-less photobooth to capture the happy
stomachs faces at the party. Typecase Industries was busy spreading ink love with their DISTRICT MADE screen prints throughout the night.
Guests who thought they were only going home with a full stomach, a photobooth photo, and a hot off the press DISTRICT MADE print were pleasantly surprised when they received an Heirloom gift to take home. The custom gifts were curated by the talented Marigold & Grey, featuring a Fresh Bakes cookie…yum!
